This bit has a pivot point which can rotate a spoon into the upper portion of the mouth.

The McKerron Overcheck bit is ideal for horses who tend to keep their heads down. It is designed to sit well in the horses mouth because of the spoon in the centre. The McKerron has 2 sets of rings. The smaller set of rings fasten to a Norton Noseband which holds the bit in position, and the larger rings fasten to the overcheck. This creates a lifting action of the spoon in the centre of the bit when the horse attempts to get its head down. Norton Noseband sold separately.

You will need a bit nose strap for this overcheck!
